Stephen Curry Is Not A "System Player". He is THE SYSTEM

The Warriors dropped consecutive games for just the second time this season with their loss Sunday in Minnesota. While the Timberwolves were without the injured Jimmy Butler, the Warriors were also shorthanded as they would one again be without David West, Andre Iguodala and, most importantly, Stephen Curry.

Durant spoke about missing Curry afterwards, telling reporters Curry is the most important player in the Warriors' system.
"Steph is the system here," Durant said, "and he's been a part of this since Steve Kerr's been here."
This claim have truth in it. Actually, the Warriors have looked lost without Curry in lineup. Against the Timberwolves on Sunday, the Warriors' offense was stagnant in many possessions, forcing Durant and Thompson to throw up shots to run with Minnesota.

The Warriors is a product of being the only team with four legitimate All-Stars, each of whom is uniquely superior. No one combines movement and catch-and-shoot excellence as well as Klay Thompson. No one affects a game in more ways, at both ends, as well as Draymond Green. And while Durant may be the toughest matchup in the NBA --it's Curry who flavors the essence of the Warriors.

Curry is the engine of the offense. His shooting opens up space for everything to flow. His ability to tug help defenders away from their men leads to open shots. But with Curry sidelined, defenders can more easily stay glued to their assignments, and the Warriors have to play with a different pace. Something about Curry's defense is also more agreeable. He plays the same way he does on offense: within the flow of team schemes.

"Everything we do revolves around Steph" Kerr once said before. "If you want to say who affects the game the most offensively, Steph's the best player in the NBA."

Lucky for Golden State, Curry will return for the Warriors' upcoming game against the Lakers on Wednesday. It will be interesting to see if he can whip the team back to shape.
